Paws & Peers

Welcome Goldie to our HV campus! Goldie is a goldendoodle who loves to snuggle and play catch who is a part of our Kindergarten team here at Hermosa Vista.

Goldie and her handler, Lara Ellingson, are a part of the Paws and Peers program through Mesa Public Schools.

Hermosa Vista Elementary school is dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging & generosity among students, staff and community in order to cultivate learning experiences that engage curiosity & collaboration while integrating the Spanish language & culture into the curriculum.

Hermosa Vista is one Mesa Public School's Dual Language Immersion schools. Half of our Skyhawk students are immersed in the Spanish language 50% of their day. Students who are not in the DLI program are exposed to Spanish through FLEX classes where they are introduced to the Spanish language and learn about Spanish speaking cultures around the world.

Students can enter the DLI program in kindergarten or first grade by registering at Hermosa Vista and for the DLI program. Students in other grade levels can test into the program if their proficiency of the language matches the grade level proficiencies set in place.
